After a week and a half of living in Brisbane the place is really starting to grow on me. I still think I will only be here until Nationals but it is a pretty decent place to settle into. The people are awesome; I have never had so many random people talk to me in my life. The weather is beautiful, on average 300 nice days a year and I have finally found some Frisbee leagues!!

I moved into a house just outside of Brisbane and have my own room for a change, such a relief (it isn't as small as it looks). It is nice just to get all my stuff out of my rucksack. I can cook for myself, since I am not a huge lover of takeout (I prefer to cook/bake as most of you would guess) I think that is one of my favorite things. And my flat mate happened to have a Frisbee contact so I now have teams to play with!
Thursday I played my first game in a month and a half and was a little worried that I would suck. Fortunately I have been jogging to keep up my endurance and every day I walk heaps. My throws were also right on, probably do to the fact that they have almost no wind here. It was sooo awesome playing again. For the next week I will get to play Monday with one of the leagues, Tuesday with the Brisbane national teams, and Wednesday with the university team. I might keep a record of any drills/plays and send them home if anything is good, such a Frisbee geek :)

On a less exciting but somewhat entertaining note, I tried “bowls” this weekend with my flat mates and their friends. My first real Aussie experience. I didn’t really expect to play lawn bowling during my time here, but I figure that I have to give everything a try. It was really fun, the best part might have the group I was with drinking and heckling and the very intense old people, all in white, sending looks to our side of the field.
